Maintenance and renewals surface before they lapse
Service intervals by date or engine hours, document and license expiries, and stock running low — on Home and in Alerts, with the record one tap away.
How readiness worksKeep your boat’s equipment, maintenance, trips, documents, expenses and service history in one private record on your Mac, iPad and iPhone.
A service comes due. You open the equipment’s record and log the work. AFTWISE works out the next due from the hours you enter, and Alerts watches it from then on. Give it a date as well and it goes on the Calendar.
What the boat is reporting: overdue service, expiring documents, stock run down, a trip left open — each row opening the record it came from. Alert Texts, if you switch them on, put a Text button on the alerts you choose; it opens Messages with the wording and the recipient filled in, and you tap Send.
Every piece of equipment gets a record like this. Here it is the demo boat’s generator: its service dates, with the hour meter above them and the maintenance history beneath.
Enter the meter reading and how often the service is due, and the next one is worked out in front of you: 384.2 hours now, every 200, next due at 584.2. A main engine works the same way from its own hours. Behind the sheet, the generator’s history.

How readiness worksEvery piece of gear keeps its manual, parts and history. A QR label on the filter opens its record in the engine room, and the Vessel Map (Cruiser) shows what is stowed where.
Equipment, fuel and the mapThe plan becomes the trip and the checklist attaches to it. Hourly checks (Cruiser) write the log, and the close-out records the hours that move your service schedule. The shipped checklists are examples to start from, yours to change.
How the record builds itselfAn insurance and total-loss inventory with values and photographs, eleven reports as PDF or CSV, sea service you can attest to, and a transfer package the next owner can open (Captain).
Records, reports and handoffA 20-foot center console and a 72-foot motor yacht have almost nothing in common except this: somebody has to know what’s aboard, when it was last serviced, and where the paperwork is.
The batteries, the flares, the impeller, the registration that expires in March. AFTWISE remembers them so Saturday is about leaving the dock.
How the record builds itself
Locks, bridges, fuel, engine hours, the checks you run every hour under way. AFTWISE keeps the sequence straight and writes the record as you go.
Cruising & the Great Loop
Sea service you can attest to, an inventory that stands up to an adjuster, and a handoff package the next captain can open.
Records, reports & handoffYou are not starting from an empty screen, and you are not asked to type your whole boat in on day one.
AFTWISE keeps your vessel record on each of your devices, and iCloud sync keeps them the same through your own iCloud account. There is no server of ours to breach.
Nothing to sign into, no password to lose, no email list you land on by installing the app. Your Apple ID handles the subscription.
Backups, CSV exports and whole-vessel archives are files you hold, in formats that open without us.
Seven manuals ship with AFTWISE and open offline. Mid-river with no bars is exactly when you need them.
How do my devices stay in sync? iCloud sync, on by default on every plan, through your own iCloud account under your Apple ID. Each device keeps a full copy, so the record opens without a signal and catches up when there is one. The full answer
Each plan includes the one below it, and the free month runs at full access — every module, at the Aftwise Captain level — on whichever plan you choose.
